This is the "Leopard Flower"/"Blackberry Lily" and is growing in 4-6" pots. There are multiple fans/stems per pot. The plants average over 12" tall. Regular pricing is $4.95 per pot but when you order a minimum of 10 pots, each pot is $3.00, a 40% saving.

This plant is of the iris family and is a perennial. It is a summer bloomer. Contact me via T-Mail if interested.

Oh, the flowers look like little orchids. Very pretty, but I don't "need" any. I don't like to get anything that needs weeding. LOL

Species Iris (Iris domestica) is so pretty! I tried growing some one time but I don't know what happened to them ... just that they disappeared, never to be seen again. Sad

I don't have an answer to your "disappearing" "Blackberry Lily", Lin. Not only have mine been in the ground and in pots for five years, if you allow them, they will propagate by self-seedling. Though the literature says they do well/best in full sun, I find that mine do best with some afternoon shading. These plants are actually evergreen in zones 9-10 but mine die back each fall and re-appear each spring. I am no longer on the coast, but these plants grew well for me and were pretty much evergreen when I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They are salt-tolerant and poor-soil tolerant, and thus I would expect them to grow in Florida-conditions as well as they do here. I fertilize my plants with Osmacote, applied in late winter before the plants emerge from dormancy.

Great deal! That's enough to get a beautiful little "drift" of these established.

(If you like orange. I like orange... in other people's gardens. LOL)

Blue is just intense, more than most can handle, I suppose. How sad.

Do you have any lavender ones? I've seen them, and they're lovely. I have 3 seedlings from winter-sowing some special gift seeds last year, but no blooms yet, so I don't know if the color will come true or if I will kick them across the street to my neighbor's garden.

Only the orange variety, Jill. I got seeds from a fellow Master Gardener 3-4 years ago, and she had a wonderful large bed of them. She has since passed away, so these plants now have sentimental value to me. Though I can't stand the sight of UT, Florida, or for that matter Auburn "orange", I love these stalks of flowers, gently nodding in the wind.
