Very pretty Joanne, very pretty!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Thanks Everyone! We are enjoying some fantastic weather and the garden full of fall colours. The day I took the tour pictures (Sept 9th), we would have normally had a few hard frosts and even snow. This fall has been great and I'm glad I was able to share some late season blooms. Here's some fall colours that I took yesterday.

Yes, Birch, Aspen Popular, Dogwoods, Willows and even wild roses. These popular trees glowed in the sun. Melissa is 13 and already taller than me.

Two pretty girls! My daughter caught up to me when she was 9. She's now about 10 inches taller than I am. I think they just grow bigger these days.

Love those gold trees!

Joanne, your garden is spectacular. I would love to come and sit in that oval hanging chair and just soak it all in.

Beautiful gardens, thanks for sharing. I do love that sedum handing ball. I just can't seem to get any to stay alive in zone 5, but perhaps using your idea may work. Is it just chick and hens in the hanging ball? What did you use inside for soil?

Again thanks so much, I truly enjoyed your garden.

You find yourself in Calgary, you are more than welcome to come sit in the garden. One neighbour does that on a regular basis, which is nice since she will water stuff if it looks like it needs it.

When I initially made the ball, I planted the two halves separately. Used regular potting soil and moss to line the cage. Once they rooted in (a couple of weeks) then I ziptied the two halves together. I just pull out hens & chicks from my garden for any replacements and use a wire to hold it in place until the additions root in. Sorry, not sure of the varieties.

Joanne:

Beautiful garden, lovely ladies! An inspiration to me and my feeble efforts in my own garden. Right now I'm in the process of weeding out a woefully overgrown large garden area in the back of our house. When I say overgrown, I'm talking weed trees, too-tall viburnums, brambles, quack grass, you name it, it's there. My Propsero rose that I planted back there is probably dead from all the overgrowth, but Sharifa Asma is alive and well!!! Everything needs to come out, though, so I can bring in a load of good dirt and compost and replant. Lordy, what a chore! I'll snap a photo and post it so you can all commiserate with me. We've all been there, haven't we?
I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. ~F. Frankfort Moore, A Garden of Peace

Angie, I definitely have. In fact, I have two beds that are screaming out to me to come clean them up. I was going to try to get to them today, but our temps went back up to 95, Thumbs down so it will just have to wait.
