I got this pretty about a year ago, a gift from a friend that was moving out of town. I would like to know its name- the only information I have is that it's a Florida native orchid.

The easy answer is Encyclia. To put a grex or species name on it will take a bit longer.

Thanks! Encyclia tampensis appears to fit, based on the pictures I was able to find on Google after you pointed me in the right direction. Smiling

Wouldn't that be the alba form of Encyclia tampensis?

Yes, I was going to ask if there is an alba form. Mamalave's looks very similar but my Enc. tampensis has purple splotch/striping on the lip, and the petals are a little more yellow.

Yes, I found E. tampensis f. alba 'Mendenhall' CCM/AOS to be a good match.
