Bumping this up for you.

Some plants for ID seem to appear in the ID forum suddenly days after they are posted!

I believe this post began in the "Ask a Question" forum and was moved to the Plant ID forum.

I think a lot of posts are coming from the Ask a Question forum greene, then they drop down the list according to the date posted.

After some searching, and some thought, it came to me that it might be an Aubergine plant? They have rough leaves and often purple petioles.

Somehow it doesn't quite look right!

Maybe one of the other Solanums? such as Solanum carolinense?? or similar
What are the visible pores on the leaves called?
Enlarged the photo and can see small spikes on the back of the upper right leaf; also small spikes along the main stem.

Solanum carolinense has some large spines on the petioles. I would call the leaves 'glandular'.

It could be a Solanum ..
