Hello everyone. I hope someone can help a fool who didn't take note of what he planted last year.

The symmetry of one of my beds is off because the other one of the plants pictured here died off and I need to replace it. I just don't know what to ask for!

Looks to me like Salvia nemorosa. Cultivar would likely be "East Friesland" or "May Night" if I had to guess.
