I like this! Just came into bloom the past week or 2. In North central Fl. cusp of zone 8/9. I would like to put them in the database if I can get an I.D.

The flower spike and leaves look like lupine , but the whole thing is larger than I am used to seeing.

I kind of look like some sort of indigofera. Have to look around to seed which one it might be.

I think it might be Indigofera hirsuta

Jay, you get the gold star. It is Indigo hirsuta aka rough hairy indigo. It's invasive here. Well, it's there & by all accounts I can't get rid of it sooooo.... I & the flutterbys & the hummingbirds may as well enjoy it.
Hey, thanks for the link. I had no idea the Scrub jay trail started here in Lake City where we've just moved to. Will have to check it out sometime. We used to have Scrub jays at our house in Martin County until the Blue jays ran them off.
