Might be Eve's Needle - Austrocylindroputia sublata (I think I got all the letters in there).

I think you have it Daisy. I was looking at Cylindropuntia subulata but couldn't find one which look to have so few spines, or even quite the same shape. It looks like this one has lost most of it's spines.

Oops! I see I missed a letter. Maybe that's the right genus but wrong species.
