I as hoping someone can tell me what type dahlia bloom this will be haven't see one like this before

Welcome to the site and to the dahlia forum, @Telkins! Where do you live/garden?

It should be fully open within a day and then we can tell you what type it is. Until then it's the process of elimination - not a pom, not a lacinated. Could be a waterlily type.

Wait until it opens completely, then repost a good picture, tell us the size of the bloom too.

I have some like that one. They began to show up after some UFO activity in the area. Is yours making any strange noises?

My Dahlias are wilting when it gets hot. I moved them from my early start glass covered container when they were about a foot high. But now, even when they are watered, they keep wilting when they get direct sun. Have I planted them wrong? Maybe not deep enough??

Do they look okay by morning? My dahlias wilt or droop at least a little every hot sunny day. When stressed they go into a survival mode and send their moisture to the roots. Sometimes, watering when it's hot makes the wilting worse. I always try to water early in the morning. As long as they perk back up by evening or morning I wouldn't worry about it. I'll admit, the first time I saw it I did panic a bit.

You don't say what part of the country you are in. Dahlias in general don't like really hot weather. But it may just be that they are not acclimatized to lots of direct sun yet. I know that when we have had a week of cloudy rainy weather, and then the sun comes out hard, the leaves get wilty looking, but then they perk right back up when it gets shady again.

If they are not recovering, and looking worse and worse, it may be that the tubers have rotted - but that is unlikely to happen to all of them at once.

Not unusual for them to droop in hot weather. They along with many other plants do that. They normally look good in the cool of morning and evening.

Sounds a lot like humans as well!
