Although people are allow to sell and advertise in that forum it still kind of rubs me wrong when they join only to advertise their business. The only difference I see between this one and the one that got booted the other day, is this one hasn't made multiple post across several forums (yet). They just joined today and there first and only post is an ad for there service.

It was first posted in the Ask a Question forum. Somehow it was moved to Classifieds. It rubs me the wrong way too, when it's obvious why they joined.

We decided the "rules" for advertising when we began, which include any person or company being able to post in the Classifieds forum. While we do encourage owners to get involved in the community, we have no desire to force them to do so. They are free to advertise in the way they see fit.

I think all of our great companies around NGA know that NGA members are a very loyal bunch- we love the corporate members of our association! Meanwhile...it is hard to convince other companies that the "quick and easy" isn't going to win in the long term Whistling Shrug! We will continue to give everyone the opportunity to post on the Classifides forum, and we will continue to give them the opportunity to interact with the finest gardeners on the web. Either way, I think they will make a name for themselves Thumbs up

I find it interesting when folks start a blog, make one post under the guise of information that they lifted from another site, and then post a business link and never make another post. Confused

There are advertising posts in two (at least of the threads I've looked at) otherwise legitimate threads in Ask a Question. Moving the whole thread wouldn't be required, so what is the procedure for individual advertising posts in threads?

Right now there's no way to do anything about individual posts other than treemail me. I plan to eventually have a "This is spam" button you can click for a post that will automatically report it as spam, to be deleted (after review and approval.)

That is a great idea Dave. It is rare for me to have that happen, but your spam button would make it quick and easy to have it reviewed.

Meanwhile, you would just report the posts, and one of us will delete just that post out of a thread Thumbs up
