If you are looking to add a lily bed in a not so perfect spot, You could dig down deeper than what you plan to put your bulbs, and install perforated pipe. Also known as drain tile. This will help with ground water especially after a heavy rain. You can then direct it to a better suited place. Plus you can customize it to your own design. Curve it, straight runs, a "grid" system. 10' for 200'. It's light weight and the fittings if needed snap together
