I was given this plant last spring by someone who also gave me other plants. She only gave me one "shoot" and didn't really say what this one was. I forgot about it but then noticed it in my garden this spring. It looks healthy and it growing well. It has strong shiny leaves and is about 8" tall at this point. I believe it's a perennial. If anyone can identify it, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Welcome!

I think it's a green form of Aucuba japonica, maybe 'Serratifolia' due to the serrate leaf margins.

There's a few named varieties such as Rozannie which produces berries well.

Euonymus fortunei 'Coloratus' would be my guess.

The leaves look bigger than Euonymus fortunei var. coloratus , and the leaf venation doesn't match?
