I've had this for 17 years. He has been up to the ceiling a few times. I know it's a Dieffenbachia but I'm not sure of the breed. Any help?

It does look a lot like Dumbcane (Dieffenbachia seguine 'Tropic Snow')

Welcome! from me too!

Just before I moved I had to get rid of my big plants. I almost made it to the sidewalk before someone stopped to adopt Gronk. Funny story, I almost got strip searched at the airport for taking part of his roots in my carry on luggage. He has been up to the roof a few times since I took him out of the small jar in my suitcase. He has also been my Christmas tree on more than one occasion! Thanks for the add, I really like my plants.

That's some monster Gronk! Hilarious!

I'm glad you risked your person in order to clone Gronk. Airport custom officials have no sense of proprietary or humour!

Yeah they really don't like seeing strange things in your luggage. Gronk was always a puppy with big feet. But he really became a monster when I started giving him water from my fish tank! I also water him often and never tear off his dead leaves. I let them dry and fall off so his trunk doesn't get scars. And I fill the little pockets his leaves make against the trunk with water too. Half strength Miracle Grow tomato plant fertilizer every two month as well. When Gronk starts to drip out of the ends of his leaves I know he has had enough.
