Gabe - With the heat so high in July and August I always ask for my boxes to come later. Have you had any problems with planting them in the heat?

I usually ask for them first thing. Pot them all, let get some roots, then plant in September/October. Smiling

Winterberry is one of the orders I could keep (had a voucher Lovey dubby ). Not only did they give me multiple rhizomes on some of the ordered Iris, but also sent three of the four I listed as substitutions, PLUS one I wanted to order, but she didn't think they had, so I ordered something else!! Hurray!

Agatha Christie
Beachwood Buzz (2)
Coral Chimes
Heaven's Bounty (2)
Knock Quietly
Leah Traded (2)
Royal Maroon
Sangria
Shampoo (2)
Waters of Miraba (2 double rhizomes, so 4 altogether!!)

Bonuses:
Enchanted Mesa
Love Goes On
Meagan Elizabeth
Severn Side

Zero issues so far, but this is the earliest I've ever got them into the ground. Whatever day I planted I was up a 6AM diggin. I have no care to work in the afternoon outside right now. My other rhizomes(Thelma's) didn't get a lot of watering, so they're now showing growth and increases. These rains will keep sparking up if the heat and humidity keep up like this.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

Of ones I have gotten, Debra's like the heat best, Thelma's are starting to kick in, a few fingers from ones I got from a friend and well, Napa is too new to tell. They are all in pots though. My big problem? I have now run out of pots!!!!😞

Hilarious! I hear you, Leslie. Except I have run out of landscaper mix. Hope to correct that deficiency tomorrow. Big Grin

Hope my boxes have no cats as bonuses! With one dog already here and watching [or maybe training] daughter's puppy Boston Terrier for the summer don't need anymore critters.

Got two notices that a trade and BluJ are on their way, so will have work to do shortly. Hope it is after it cools down a little. Everything planted now requires watering about 3 times a week if no showers pop up, but tend to do better than those planted in September with little time to put down decent roots. Late April-May is actually an ideal planting time for me.

All I need is time and space. Both of which I have precious little of! I need to get to it or I will not be ready for any of the boxes slated to arrive from around the country!
