Comes up in spring, dies back in winter. I have never seen a flower. The root was a nut like corm-ish looking thing, for lack of better words. Grows 10 - 12 feet or more. Hasn't spread. I may have to post the pix separately as I am having trouble loading the 2nd. Thank you for looking.

Missy, your description of the vine sounds like Air potato vine, but the leaves don't look quite right - Air Potato (Dioscorea bulbifera)
Also, air potato can be invasive as it produces tubers on the vine, which drop and root wherever they fall. Or, birds may spread them, making them a nuisance plant in some areas. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Give this link a look. It looks a lot like air potato/wild yam.

I thought the leaves were pretty, but I have enough invasive vines!!!

Missy, my girlfriend has one that she keeps under her carport, where she can keep a watchful eye one it. I had one that I kept in a pot on my concrete driveway, but I gave away all of my potatoes and my vine froze one unusually cold winter and did not return. Maybe you can try something like that, since the leaves are a little unusual and pretty. When I had mine, people always asked what the plant was. It's a great conversation piece. Just an idea.
