I planted about 30 lima bean seeds and only 1 came up. We did have cooler weather alot after planting in norfolk va. area...early may,
could the cooler weather/soil temp been a problem....I kept soil moist, rain did that for me mostly, thanks for any comments.

There are any number of reasons why seeds don't germinate. Location, maturity/age of the seeds, temperature, birds and squirrels, among others.

Welcome to Garden.org, @raven59 !

Yes, cool soil temps can definitely be a problem for germination of bean seeds; I believe the minimum is about 60F, but they really prefer warmer temps. (When the soil is too cool they just sit there and rot.) I would think you still can replant and get a good crop Smiling .
