My worst pest is park management. (Manufactured home park.)

"Weed this, mow that, trim everything!"

Grumble grumble. But, since we all live in each others pockets, I really should keep them happy even if it means PAYING someone (until I retire and have time to do it right myself).

(Edited to change "wed" to "weed". Park management doesn't care who I marry as long as my yard has no weeds. "No green things" would be OK with them, but they want everything tidy. Park management isn't as annoying as many HOAs. They are busy enough that they don't invent reasons to mess around with people.)

I've said it before & I'll say it again... if only we could harness the power of the squirrel, nature's busiest & most prolific gardeners. If we could communicate with them... The gardener who manages to somehow gain control of squirrel power could feed the world!

The worst pest in my garden is my neighbor! She wants every plant I own. She even wants my shovel. She would rob me blind and has! I can't stand her. If there is a way to rid myself of her, please help me! Sighing!

I have one of those neighbors. Most of her plants come from other people's yards. She just pulls off whole branches and takes them home, then doesn't know what she's got or how to care for it. I had to go on a campaign of telling her NO! And I have not been "nice" about it, either. She took a few things but I went right into her yard and took them back, so that's over, for now.

Hi Carol, I think you are right. I am going to tell her no. I don't know that I can. I will have to practice! Thank you! Hilarious!

Sandy, I'm on your side. Even snatching a tip cutting without permission is an act of theft and I don't tolerate it for a minute. I'm too old to do all this work for someone else to take it away from me. Practice saying NO in front of a mirror for awhile. That can help. Other than my absolute intolerance for any kind of theft, I can be a really nice person. Lovey dubby Hilarious! Hilarious!

Find other ways to say no. Don't feel obligated to explain, just deny the request. You'll feel empowered after you do it a few times.

Sorry!

It's promised to someone else.

What are you offering in return?

I would say that I can't even believe people would do something like that... but unfortunately, I can. Years ago I was living in a house on 40 wooded acres; our closest neighbor was almost 1/4 mile away. One day I was home from work, sick with the flu, and saw our neighbor wheeling a wheelbarrow down the road past our house, and then coming back with an apple tree he had dug up on our property... Blinking . It was a "wild" apple tree, but still!

It's been a constant battle with the deer, rabbits and javelinas. The worst part is that we are here only part time, so they have full run of the place while we're gone. Sad

Karen, that definitely adds another layer of difficulty -- they really get a chance to take over. Thumbs down

They do! We are hoping to be rid of the AZ place and just be able to stay in NM. I absolutely hate leaving the greenhouse and my other houseplants and outdoor plants.

My dog has been biggest pest this year. Pulled out a lilac shrub. Broke 2 lily stems that I know of. My other dog knocked 2 pots off that had lily bulbs. One stem shriveled up and is going to do nothing this year
