They are green beauty snow pea. I'm still waiting for sugar magnolia snap pea to bloom with purple pods. I will keep posting pics when they set on.

Peacework pepper also bloomed two days ago.

I planted my snow peas a bit late... no blooms here yet! (but that's okay; we're binge eating asparagus right now anyway Hilarious! )

I have lots of peas but they aren't big enough to harvest. Nice sizes but you can see the peas are not very big inside. Plants would be about 7 fee tall if they grew straight up. But they reached about 5', fell over onto the horizontal rack I put there, then went 2' horizontal and are now back to about 1.5" vertical. Funny looking. I planted beans (pole) next to them in succession and those crazy things have latched onto the pea trellis and have run clean to the top of the 5' rack. Not sure there they will go from there. I hve serious underestimated their growth. Of course our weather has been gloriously hot and sunny for us anyway.

Somehow I missed seeing this until now.

This is my first time ever growing any type of peas with anything but white blossoms. I was so excited when I learned about the snap peas with purple blossoms. And even purple pods!!

So I planted Sugar Magnolia and a batch of others. Blooming and setting pods now.

They are doing very well. Considering the truly excessive heat we had in August it is amazing they are still here!!!

The Sugar Magnolia taste pretty good, sweeter to me than the Magnolia Blossom which are the green pods with just the purple blush on them. Better (sweeter) than both of those are the Opal Creek which are yellow podded.

But I am sure I will be continuing to grow them because I simply can not get over the purple pods. And I do love those colored blossoms.

Some of the purple pods on Sugar Magnolia. Just ignore the green pods of Magnolia Blossom.

Yes, people are really, really surprised at those purple pods. Well, I was too when I first saw them. Still can't get over them. Fits right in to my different looking veggies that I like to grow.
