Greetings from California Ami!

Arlyn, sorry to hear Rita had complications, but glad she is on the mend now..

It took me awhile to catch up on this forum. Welcome! Green Grin! Elsa, I like the blue & green on Green Oasis at Mid-America
I was happy to lurk and check the database, but the members of this forum have been very helpful & friendly. I am glad that this thread has helped others come forward.

Polymerous, thanks for sharing more about yourself. I have been wondering about fancy Chrysanthemums myself on another thread without much luck. I want to know how hardy they are for my zone.

My favorite flower for growing in front of my Iris have been Calibrachoas (look like mini petunias). They take the heat without needing deadheaded and spread nicely without growing to tall. A minus, they are annuals here.

Ohh, that is a lovely little iris!

Aryln, thank you for that list. I am going to copy it and keep it for future reverence. I hope your wife is better soon. Group hug Teresa

Arlyn, glad to hear Rita's health is improving. Group hug

Nikki, many years ago I used to try fancy florist mums in the garden. I would find pots of them thrown away in the cemetery and feel sorry for them and bring them home. Most survived the winter just fine, but the problem was they were very late blooming- like November. They typically got frozen just as the buds were trying to open. Day length triggers bloom and some require really short days to set buds.

Just getting caught up in the forum. Open house and lots of training done this week. Whew!

Welcome Ami and anyone else I may have missed. I'm from Michigan as well. I don't have many dwarf irises, but am looking to add many as well. I am especially grateful for Arlyn's list. I'm also not looking forward to the winter either. Maybe the severe cold will cancel school again, though, again like last year. Hehe.

I started reading this thread again this morning. I'm only 1/2 way through but found it refreshing to learn about everyone once again. Thumbs up maybe some new comers can add a few words if the want too. Plus it's sad some of those that where on here don't participate much anymore. Thank you again Gabe for starting this thread. nodding

I see that I am not the only one who reads old threads. It does seem like several people have dropped out, but I also see the "tried and true" members that have been sharing their stories and pictures for quite a few years.

Before, when I was a member of ATP, I had never visited the iris forum. I was busy trading seeds (and on cubits), and doing winter-sowing. I am glad that I finally found you all. I hope that everyone here is proud to have enabled a newbie iris addict! nodding

I've gotten through the first 10 pages of the 26! I'm reviewing! I see that I did check in back in 2016. I guess all your kind wishes helped me recover from shoulder surgery back then, because my pottery production is back in full swing! Thanks, everyone.
This iris forum is my online happy place.
Oh, and there's going to be a fifth grandson next April!
Life is good, and if we still have a democracy this time next year, I'll be very happy.
