Thread OP

I actually joined for some help with my garden but saw that there was a photography section and had to at least stop and introduce myself. I am Lance nice to meet you all. I am a beer distributor in Washington state and photography is one of my favorite hobbies. Here are a few of my photos.

I have been a professional photographer for over 40 years. I have taught adults photography for over 35 years. Though "retired" I still teach photography part time at the U. W. in Madison WI. I'm also kind of new to this forum. Seems like photography does not get a lot of posters. Perhaps you can change that for the better. Gene

It's kind of a strange thing here in this forum. We have some fantastic shooters...then some outright tyros...

So it's mostly become about answering questions.

One thing, in my opinion, that this forum could really, really, really use is something akin to Digital Darkroom 101 - (i.e. exposure/contrast/sharpening/saturation/etc.). Very rudimentary stuff. Explanations of why and when to use the simple features of any editor. And in what order.

One of the classes I teach is called Digital Photography 101 & 102. About 10 hours long. I'm a poor typist. I cannot imagine trying to teach it here. Answer some questions? Perhaps. Gene

A new class I'm going to teach this Fall is called The Complete Digital Photography Class. 16 hours long. I teach things besides photography but staying with photo, I also teach: wildlife photo, composition, Dig. Darkroom, Macro, Portraits, travel photo, Scenery, and some others. Gene
