There are several popular cultivars out there, 'Brazilian Red Hots,' a gorgeous variegated plant, and 'Purple Knight' are 2 that come to mind. Check out the 'Purple Knight' to compare this one.

The A. ficoidea plant I have has much more compact nodes, smaller leaves. I had a 'Purple Knight' a few times before, (which was always red, and looked exactly like the pic awesome pics you put of this pretty plant) and for the past few yrs have had this one. It doesn't get much above 8" tall:

Not at all necessary but TY! It's a really s...l...o...w day @ work today. I've been doing "winter type plant stuff" here today. Jiggering database info, gawking at pics I don't usually have time to see... :+)
