Plant ID forum: Carnation-like flower "weed" in my backyard.

Not really sure what this is. As far as I know, it is a weed. The flowers resemble carnations or chrysanthemums. Location is Portland-area of Oregon.

Hollyhock? I wouldn't classify that as a "weed".

Welcome! Hollyhock is the common name. Comes is many colors. Check out the link it will show you all the names and some also have photos of the genus Alcea. http://garden.org/plants/browse/plants/genus/Alcea/
