It grows just 24 inches tall, is blooming presently (MA--zone 6A), has small blooms, little or no odor. They are very hardy in my garden. At the base of the stems/leaves there is a slight maroon color.

I did try to use the iris search feature but I came up with nada. Part of the problem may be that I am a neophyte & do not know what most of the terms mean.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It's obviously an historic, I'm guessing some of the historic buffs will have a few possibilities for you to check out.

At 24 inches, and with small blooms, it could be a MTB as well as a historic. I say this because there are a lot of MTB's with that sort of veining on the falls. AND yes, lots of historics have that too.

Thanks @tveguy3 @Lestv and @Caitlinsgarden , I think it might be Tristram! Another ATP member has offered to send me a piece of her Tristram for comparison sake. I love this website, or more accurately the great gardeners on this site!

@Lestv, the plant is actually taller. I initially measured the stand I have growing along our driveway. The soil there is not great, it gets hot & dry from the blacktop. I measured my second stand growing in better conditions & the iris is taller, more like 27".

You will have to tell us what you find out after the test plant blooms.
