Thread OP

Hello
Could you please tell me if there are any Irises with the name "Kim" or "Kimberly"? I saw one in your site called "Kimberly My Love". I live in Maine so I am not even sure if it would grow well here. I am looking for perinneals with the name "Kim" or "Kimberly" in it as we are making a Memory Garden for our daughter, Kim, who recently passed away. It does not have to be just Irises but any other planting of her name that would grow well here. Our garden gets full sun by 11:00 am till dark. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

So sorry for your loss Angel82 and what a special tribute to plan a memory garden.
If you click on the Plant Database, upper left in the blue section, once on that page, there is a search box in the center. Just type in Kimberly or Kim and you'll bring up a list of all plants with those names.

What a lovely tribute, and our sympathies for your loss, Angel.

How about daylilies? There seem to be quite a few with the name Kim. Either daylilies or irises will do great for you up in Maine. If I was planting your memory garden, this one would be my first pick:
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Kim's Laughter')

Hi,

Irises do well in Maine. One of the NGA members in Maine is active on the Irises Forum and she might be helpful to you. Member is Linneaj and you could send her a treemail if you want to pick her brain.

Found a few plants in the database that you might like and may be able to easily locate. Some of the names have a slightly different spelling. Smiling Another option is to have a Daylily, Iris, or other plant seedling named in her honor. Group hug

Debra

Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Kim's Knee High')
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'Kimberley')
Thickleaf Phlox (Phlox carolina 'Kim')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Kim's Magic')
Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Kim')
It’s okay to not know all the answers.
