I was walking in the pasture today and came across an area that had a lot of these plants blooming. This seems like a relatively new plant to me and I've been here a long time. Either the wet year has made it more visible or it's something recently finding its way here. Looks a lot like annual garden phlox as it grows in this area. About the same size. I'm not a good close up photographer, so I hope these suffice.

Donald, this is a good year for Meadow Pink here in the metroplex area as well. It must be the rain.
It is such a lovely and delicate plant, a delight to see out there. Smiling

I've only seen it growing in one area of the pasture, but I also saw some in the neighbors pastures. I take them for granted, but I'm not blind or immune to the native plants so I'm surprised I haven't noticed it before even if there were just a few plants. It's not one I'd have been likely to miss. Over the years, though, there have been additions and changes in the balance of what grows - both in flora and fauna. Something you can observe on a property if you've been closely associated with it since 1950 nodding . Weather patterns surely affect that, too.

Thanks. I don't about 'great' though. I'm lucky the camera functions is all Smiling . I took a lot more photos. I'll look through them when I get more time and add a couple to the db. At least yesterday I got reasonably accurate color as seen on my monitor.

I think all three of those Sabatia photos in your first post are beautiful and definitely database worthy!
