Forget me not seeds cling to your socks like bugs! And the liatris seeds look like rockets. Gaillardia look like shuttlecocks. Echinacea seeds look like monster teeth. We gardeners do gain such valuable information, don't we?

Will (if you haven't already) please add your seed pics to the database. I'm new to seed collecting and never know what I'm supposed to be looking for *Blush* These kinds of pics help me out tremendously Lovey dubby

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the wonderful world of seeds. Try different methods like indoor under lights, wintersowing, direct sowing, and sprouting in damp paper towels.

And yes, I added the above photos to the database. I remember how I searched for seed photos when I was new to seed saving. But if you allow blossoms to dry completely on the plants, you will be surprised at how quickly you learn to identify different seed types. The biggest hurdle for me to overcome was allowing the flower to remain on the plant long enough that the seeds were mature.

My favorite online source for seed photos is FRSA
http://www.frsa.org/plateindex...

If you open each plate in adobe you get big clear photos of seeds.

What a great link I'm gonna bookmark that one Group hug

As for allowing the flower heads to dry *Blush* well I'm good at that Rolling on the floor laughing
Maybe my problem is I let them stay there too long before I look for the seeds Sad
