Interesting, I didn't know that. I remember visiting the MS coast and seeing beautiful beaches, I had no idea they were man made. This was prior to the casinos.

LOL Dan, I keep my distance from the gators too. They tend to stay in the freshwater ponds on golf courses but frequently take a stroll to survey the neighborhood.

I don't know if you seen the video of the gator ringing the doorbell in Moncks Corner but this was on the same day and my wife called me after I took the pics and shared that video with me.

Richard, seeds are free (all of my seeds are). Just send me a SSA envelope and I will send you plenty. I won't get any seeds until late summer though.

By the way, these seeds are huge, probably 10x the size of "average" seeds. You need to plan on postage for 2 oz., rather than the typical 1 oz. envelope.

The largest gator ever caught in Mississippi (we have so many that we have hunting seasons for them) was last August. It weighed 826 lb. and was (only) 14'.

I think you can easily see from the size of that monster, with the "hunters" behind it, that it could easily snatch up pretty large animals and even humans, and swallow them whole. Those hunts have really become a big thing here. The larger the gator, the more wary they become, and certainly the more difficult it is to bring one of these behemoths to a boat and dispatch it.

I'm quite sure that hide brought lots of $$ and the tail-meat was either sold or distributed to family and friends. Gator is actually quite good, very similar to chicken in my opinion.

Yep, a bit more chewy than chicken, but slow-cooked, this meat becomes very tender.
