Wow, a pet snake, huh? You can separate or not separate the clumps. It doesn't really matter, Rosie. Yes, just plant to the level where the fans begin. That's it. Use the sphagnum moss for whatever you wish or just bury it alongside the roots. Water them in when you plant them and try to get water on them every other day unless your soil retains lots of moisture. How much sun will they get, on average?

A good amount where I put them ..and I sprayed them for good measure just to train the deer.

The soil could be better...but I tilled in compost and in the fall will put bone meal and mulch well

Thank you again for a grest deal and it was all packed so well too, all nice and healthy.

Now along with these will be larkspur, alyssum, amsonia, iris, globe amarynth, nigella, and cleome

May be a bit over zealous but we will see what works

Wonder why mine are so early I already have fat pods weighing down the scapes. I'm still getting a few blooms on some plants but they are all about 90% done.

Suga, you are far enough inland, a good two hours NW of me, the blackberry lilies should do very, very well for you. I am envious.

Daniel, perhaps you have more perfect growing conditions than I. Even though the Leopard Flower will grow in all kinds of "poor" conditions, having great conditions makes any plant take off. More sun, more fertile soil, fertilizer at the right time, and plenty of water, simply gives you a leg-up when growing. Also, the simple fact that I grow so many in 4-6" pots, greatly restricts their ability to produce flowers and then seed-pods rapidly. That's my experience any way.

@Suga, I am sending you a T-Mail.

I tip my hat to you. Barbalee. I average shipping over 300 boxes of plants each year, and after doing this for almost five years, I have got it down to almost a science. Most people complain that I "over-pack". Whistling

Not a teensy complaint here, Ken! When I got it all totally out and ready to plant, I found that one section is even blooming! I'm totally impressed. I tip my hat to you.
