Hi all,

As you can see from the attach pictures, there's some sort of yellow fungus like thing growing at the base of my Mother-in-Law's Tongue/Viper's Bowstring Hemp plant. I rescued this plant from my gf (now fiance), who pretty much killed it, about 2 years ago, so I'd really like to keep it healthy. What is this? Is this normal? What do I do?

I'd appreciate any help you guys can provide.

There are a number of different fungi that grow in the organic matter of potting soil. I suspect this is one. I have a bright yellow one that grows in my Ficus plant. I pull them and spray with fungicide, sprinkle with cinnamon... and they grow back. They will not harm your plant but if you have pets (my main concern), keep them pulled. Mine smell so mushroomy, I am tempted to eat them myself! I can't imagine what my cat would think (Yumm-Yumm!).
