Congratulations! There's nothing cuter than a duckling - well maybe one a little older than this.

Yes to photos. Who can not love a hen with such an interesting name. Any idea how it came about?

Saturday September 10 will be driving 1 hr. 40 minutes for 2 drakes and some hatching eggs. One of the drakes will go with our 3 ducks. Our Drake will go with whatever ducks hatch. We should have babies and hatching eggs next summer.

I know! As soon as we candle the eggs from our ducks I'm planning on selling and shipping fresh hatching eggs. Smiling I just want to make sure we have viable eggs first. I won't sell hatching eggs without a 95% fertility rate here.

We got a bad deal from someone on shipped eggs. I'm not going to be that guy. Grumbling

It's nice that you do that for your customers. A lot can happen to eggs during shipping though, I have had them shipped to me from a hatchery with good luck. They put them in paper egg containers, and then poured vermiculite on them to hold them in place. Worked good. But if they would happen to get too cold during shipping that can ruin them easily.

I just want to make sure that the Drake is doing his job and isn't shooting blanks. Housing changes, feed changes, stress all affect fertility for both semester. Because of this week will be incubating samples of eggs thru out the year.

Chuckl. Navy seadogs graduated their sealegs and became sailors by swallowing one. My littlest brother now 56 will still gag, but said he was glad it didnt have to stay down. Dint think I have the proper palate for that either.. Rolling on the floor laughing I agree
