I think Black Stallion is an MDB.

yes it is. Ours was new this past year & while the first 2 stems were eaten by some sort of bug, the other 3 stems were great.

BS is an MDB and has been corrected in the sale list. They are getting all that stuff fixed. Always an issue with new methods.

Is there any way to find out the height on the historics? The database doesn't show the height for those I want to order, but I want TBs...they're classed as that, but....??

You can look here: the iris encyclopedia http://wiki.irises.org/bin/vie.... Or sometimes I just do a google search for different web sites using the iris' name.

I looked, I started a list, I asked myself what I was doing as I don't have room for the ones coming already, I quit looking. There are some lovelies though.....And some SDB's I would really like....just not this year. Sighing!

If you don't have enough room for your incoming SDB's, Leslie, I am starting a B&B here. I can furnish references from a Quaker Lady.

Bonnie - I may need to send some existing SDB's to your B&B. They are starting to get unruly. I had to thin Teagan and Rust Never Sleeps (not a SDB) because they were about to grow over each other. And my dwarf ring has filled in considerably too. And don't get me started about Cat's Eye and Ninja Turtles!

Mini Mouse and Mahogany Snow were sure cute, but I will have to wait until next year's sale. And for historic TB's I have to say there are quite a few down the road at Thelma's I would like to add.

I was debating whether or not to join so I can get in on the sales early, but my list it's already WAY to long, so no sense paying $13-14 (about the cost of two rhizomes) just to get in on it early, I'll let what I get be determined by what's left, I suppose.

I have to admit that I found a few on there that were interesting... ('Tamino' is intriguing, for starters)... but I'm drowning in rhizomes at the moment and no room for any of them.

(I figure if I pot up 3 a day, I might get done before we have to go out of town next month...)
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I'm sure that I *probably* won't get my 'first picks", as they are in rather short supply....but, I have 'second choices', and "THIRD", and, well, ..you get the idea ! The really important thing, IMHO, is, as in any "fundraising sale"....you get to help somebody out, financially......and get 'rewarded" for it with some plants ! It's really a "win-win" situation, for all concerned !

There are so few of the ones I want and since I am not a member I will probably not get them. Phooey! I will have to see what is left from members orders. One that I wanted is MDB Darius and I think it is only listed on the second round and with O available. The others I want are mostly SDB's, no surprise there, and there are at least one of each listed in both rounds. Crossing Fingers!
