Thread OP

Seems I have 13 acorns but because I am from Canada they are useless to me as we are not permitted to participate in any of the raffles etc so if anyone wants them ,if you can figure out or find out if they are transferrable you are welcome to them . No point in hanging on to useless items

You can give any of your acorns away; you just click on the acorn at the bottom of a post, or go to a membername and do it that way.

Signet,
You can go to your favorite forum, read any post you like, Click the icon of the Acorn in the post and it will transfer One acorn to the person.

I am not sure if NGA has any other offers to use up the acorns other than the raffle.

You can buy badges for your profile. I don't see any badges.

For those not in the Continental U.S. you can use your Acorn 's to purchase raffle tickets.

Normally, if you won a prize you would have to forfeit it because all current vendors who offer prizes are located in the U.S. and due to shipping regulations they cannot ship overseas.

(Members who live outside of the continental U.S. are always welcome to contact their favorite vendors in their respective countries to see if they would be agreeable to offer prizes/gift certificates (great advertising) in our raffles!

~ For this month's raffle, one member/vendor has offered a prize that they are willing to ship to Canada or overseas. I copied and pasted the following from the main raffle page: NON-U.S. WINNERS: The Sempervivum Patch is providing a $35 gift certificate to their store. Non-US winners may substitute for a gift certificate from "Garden Buddies" http://cubits.org/GardenBuddie... ~

The info link ( next to your acorn count ) says from time to time merchandise is offered.

I think they are useful to give to others when you want to say " I really appreciate that post, information, photo, etc." or just to say Hi and welcome!
Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved

Signet, I would hang on to your acorns! As others have said, you can use them to 'purchase' badges to go near your name. You can also use them to 'tip' people for posts that are particularly helpful. Occasionally, too, you can use them to purchase items. And, there ARE some prizes available to non-US citizens. And, you aren't too far across the border...there may be NGA members who might be willing to meet up with you to give your prize to you. (Many members on here are just awesome like that. Big Grin )
