Did you try misting them with a garden hose every day? Aphids HATE to be wet...I had to quit growing Calendula for the same reason, they were magnets for those black aphids. I'm gonna give it a couple years then try again.

No......................I knew you could blast them off with the hose but not the misting trick.....there is still one of the orange milkweeds so if it gets any aphids I will mist! There were hundreds of the bugs on the swamp milkweed last fall....you couldn't even see the stems of the plant it was so covered. Bugs don't generally gross me out but this was just nasty.
