We did make it into the 70's yesterday, a beautiful day. Woke this morning to cloudy and 46f Blinking I had the fan blowing in through the bedroom window all night...it was a wee bit chilly in there this morning even for me! Headed out early to pick strawberries. Today was the first day with the field open at 7am for pick-your-own at the local farm, picked 16 lbs in just under 30 mins. Didn't warm up much until a shower hit at noon followed by the sun, then it went into the 70's around 3pm. Stuck inside after picking berries, did some house cleaning today, ours and the chickens.

What a gorgeous sunset Charley!

Loved the weatherman story Signet... Hilarious!

So happy you had a perfect weather day today Mayo. hugs.

Edited to correct 26 lbs to 16 lbs, pinky malfunction reaching the correct key.

No tornadoes and not even a drop of rain that was predicted. Now they are saying no rain until Sunday as it is drying up here. I will be watering again.

They are calling for a high of 91F, which means it could get to 94F at my place. It's a little early for it to be getting that hot but this will be the 'coolest' day this week.

It isn't a daylily, but I thought you might like a picture of my pineapple blooming.

While the weather gods granted me a beautifull day yesterday, they took their pound of flesh during the night and this morning...

Rain started around 11PM last night (I was just back form walking my dog Whistling ) , turned into torrential rains, turned into a severe thunderstorm that lasted until this morning and wreaked havoc all over the country Blinking

Oh my gosh, that is horrible. We have had floods like that before here and it certainly is no fun at all. Hope all the water goes away quickly!!!

Yesterday it got up to 109F. We had to go outside to go to Souplantation. It was unreal. They are calling for a high of 95F, which means it will probably be around 98F at my place. That won't be hard to do. It was already 76F at 6AM. Usually it is in the high 50s at that time.

I did not know that Kelli. Two of those German tourists died. The third one made it out alive. We had one or two other tourists from other parts of the USA die as well this past week. Crying

Thanks for posting that photo Kelli. I started two pineapples last year and they have survived, cannot wait till they flower and give fruit! I need all the info you can give me about what they like and do not like, etc. Hurray!

What a treat today after brain melting temps this last week. We are under heavy overcast with a temp of 87 with a humidity of 37 and dew point of 54. Even had a few, very few, sprinkles. Hilarious!

We are only about 78 today. We had a very brief downpour for about 3 minutes. Wish it would have been longer. Shrug!

Wow, Mayo, that is something else!

Linda, I don't do much with the pineapple. I water it once a week and it gets a half day of full sun.

They are calling for a high of 94F, which means it could get to 97F at my place. There is no relief in sight in the 10-day forecast. It is nice this morning.

Lows yesterday and today were 48f and 46f, the high turned out to be a nice comfortable 80 with a light breeze both days. Overnight the house cooled off inside so after running errands I made 2 batches of strawberry jam with the berries. Then baked a french vanilla chocolate chip cake and a double batch of mac and cheese. Extras of the mac and cheese will be nice frozen to reheat with hamburgers from the grill. Suppose to be warmer over this weekend with another cool down next week. Scapes are finally popping all over the garden!!!

The images of the clouds and lightening in the article are incredible Mayo. Saw the flooding in West Virginia tonight on the news...so much damage caused by the extremes of the weather.

How long will it take to make a pineapple Kelli? Very cool!

You were right about the waistline Linda.....no dairy products 2 hours before to 2 hours after when taking the meds for Lyme..... I had to stop eating my evening bowl of Ben and Jerry's. Lost 2 lbs in the last 12 days *Blush* Nine more days of meds to go.....
