Emquinn said:We had a nice cool weekend. Temps are back in mid to high 90F. We really need some rain.

I'm down the road and it's a humid steam pit lately. Hopes of rain today fizzled away literally. Luckily the garden get sun and shade.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

DOWNSIDE : waiting for rain AGAIN . And it is going to be another ugly day here temperature wise . I have so many scapes up it is ridiculous . All 3 weeks early Grumbling but all seem to be in a holding pattern . Been busy days here and I am STILL trying to weed but can't get the weeds out without using water . Plants are much shorter than normal this year .....due to lack of rain no doubt .

UPSIDE : A single solitary bloom on Velvet Ribbons opened yesterday as did Spacecoast Starburst ( Mary Anne, I found it ! or should I say more like it found me !!!!!!!!!) Blackeyed Stella opened and Carved Pumpkin Pie reared it's gorgeous head. Bluebird Sky opened this a.m. and Serenade .....which is wonderful Hurray! .......however just a peek at what is right round the corner. I grow 1200 named varieties and about 1500 seedlings at the moment so one barely even sees the opened ones at this point .

I just know they are all going to burst open at the first hint of rain .Then I will be scrambling to take pictures of them all for my website. Why does it always have to be feast or famine around here? Anyone know? Sighing!

No rain here either. Some is predicted for tomorrow. Scapes and bud counts appear to be lower this year, probably due to lack of rain and such a long cold spring.

Char, I don't exactly remember, but I think it takes 8 to 9 months to make a pineapple.

They are calling for a high of 96F, which means it will be 99F at my place. It is cloudy right now, which usually makes for a less hot day.

Well we got another .08" yesterday. That makes the third day this week. I'd say we have gotten maybe a quarter inch total. Really not bad for us. High temperature of 76 today with a 50% chance of rain.

Of course there is 50% chance and then there is 50% chance. In Oklahoma the storms start out in Amarillo or Lubbock and come marching through Oklahoma shoulder to shoulder like a finalist at the National Drum and Bugle Corps competition. Everyone gets whacked

Here in New Mexico we get dozens of little storms that stagger around like a Monty Python Twit contest. One or two may drag a wispy edge across us.

Hence, 50% in Oklahoma results in a two inch pounding while 50% in New Mexico it results in a butterfly kiss. Of .08 inches.

Waiting for bloom to start.

Charley

Could use some rain. Been watering the garden each day. Rotation, do one section, next day do another section. But some thirsty veggie plants need doing every day or at the very least if I skip a day I had better get them the next day.

It is kind of overcast here and only 94 F so far on our patio. The Weather Channel has been off the air all morning. Confused

We were expecting rain or thunderstorms today, the sky went dark around 6 PM but then nothing happened. It's been a hot day. Rain is predicted for tomorrow too, we have to wait and see.

I don't think it got as hot yesterday as they were calling for. It will be a hot one today. It was already 74F in the house when we came downstairs at 6AM. They are calling for a high of 99F, which means it could be 102F at my place.

We have a predicted high of 93 today with thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Some storms could be severe. I hate it when we need rain but instead of a nice gentle rain, we get severe weather.

95 outside under mostly clouds today. Humidity is up to 25% and the dew point is in the mid 50's so it is pretty moist feeling here but no rain. Thumbs down

Not as high as you sometimes get. Still must feel pretty bad though.

Well its a funny thing Linda, it seems once the line of storms gets passed Lansing, it starts to break apart. North and South of us are getting rain. None so far for us.
