Grandchildren are my greatest joy.

I thought hosta were one of the most popular plants......where are the pictures? Lets get busy and share and make the data base worth while.

I'm here Paul, sorry it took so long to say hello to everyone but I was busy uploading some plants, Mostly Hostas. Only one thing I love more than growing Hostas and that's taking pictures of them and sharing them with other people who love them as much as I do!!

Hi there! Couldn't garden without my Hostas.
As I found out the hard way when we moved 800 miles and left my Hostas behind!!
Took me 6 years to get most back.

And I was heartbroken as some varieties were 15+ years old and alot of the varieties hard to find anymore. Some of the older varieties(1990's) I liked better.

OMG,I know you must have been very heartbroken! See if you can make a list of some of the varieties you are missing and I will help you look for them. I know of some good mail order companies, and some ship till November. I just received an order two days ago. I want to get them in the ground now so they can over winter and come up beautiful in spring. Plus I got about 40 left in the raised nursery bed, I must figure that out next year! (liners)

Most of the hosta people I know are either gathering seed, dabbing, weeding, planting, or doing cleanup for fall. Busy busy.

Well, I just received an order from Hostas Direct and it's the second shipment from them, I was very happy with the selection and the hostas both times. I have used Naylor Creek, they were good too, they seem a little more expensive but you do what you got to do right. Then there Hallson's, Newhampshire Hostas,Country Boy's,Gardenharvestsupply,Yahoo coop,and Bentley Gardens, they have a coop also but I ordered from Bentley through eBay. I have ordered several times from eBay but I read the feedback carefully to make sure they know what they are doing when it comes to packing. The other companies I mentioned are all good companies, they are listed on Dave's watchdog. Country Boy's and Gardenharvestsupply sent small plants and the others were big, except where I specified that I wanted a starter for a reduced price. Anyway I got some huge divisions from Hostas direct for 3.99 they were having a fall blow out sale and getting ride of the Mature divisions. I bought ten of them things!
NewHampshireHosta is having 40% off right now and Hallson's is having 25%off and Hostas Direct still has some large divisions and starters for 67% off !!!

None of the three was NH but these are all from New Hampshire Hosta.

Me too Dennis! I planted another shipment of Hostas yesterday and transplanted 5 bushes. Today I am collecting seed and mulching. Boy am I tired, I need to go back to work! Come-on Monday!
