Oh Daisy...what terrible news..for you and your foot and the mischief and mayhem going on inside your greenhouse...If only turtles could talk!
Ursula...we might have to check with the folks at Guiness World Records ...you may qualify for number of trapped squirrels in one yard in one season!

Horrible news Daisy. I am pretty sure it was a raccoon that invaded your pond, that is their standard MO.

Really sorry about your foot, I have been dealing with 7 stress fractures and a broken toe in the same foot for years. I injured my foot the morning my FIL died and I did not want to draw attention to myself and tell anyone I hurt the foot, as a result everything healed crooked. Physical therapy helps when it acts up.

Ursula, are you sure you are not sending those squirrels to my yard? I think their numbers are multiplying here.

I trapped a total of 23 squirrels last year, and quit trapping by late July. I wasn't seeing any squirrels. Don't know why.

I started trapping again mid-May, but because my next door neighbor wants every squirrel I trap and takes them to his rural, wooded property, I generally only set the trap out the day before he goes. That greatly limits what I catch. He only goes once a week. I only have caught 5 so far, and have one sitting in the trap right now, scheduled for its relocation trip in the morning. I caught a nice, big coon last night (I have a large trap that apparently will only catch large, heavy animals). I just turned the coon loose. I buy roasted peanuts in the shell and mix the peanut halves in with peanut butter. Every animal seems to like that recipe.

I wish I had a video of the young ones running single file up a tree on one side of the yard and jumping across the tree canopy and coming down a tree on the other side of the yard. Then, they rush pell mell across to the first tree and do it again - and again and again...... It is actually pretty cute, if only I didn't dislike them so much. Shrug!

Thanks everyone! According to the Dr. at Urgent Care, It happened because 1. I am walking too much (an hour a day) and 2. I'm over 65. This is bad news for the runner in my soul. I was never fast but I did run. I haven't run a marathon since I was 65 when my spinal column said ENOUGH! And gave up running all together soon after that on advice from my Dr.

I overdid it yesterday. Petaled my mechanical bike and then "helped" my daughter plant 4 roses for me.

Nothing in my trap... Grumbling

Crying Being over 65 causes a lot of problems by itself. No roses necessary. Take care and stay off the foot until the inflammation subsides.

I hear you, Daisy. I gave up running when my knees wouldn't allow me to walk the day after. Now I set the gym treadmill to a 15 degree slope and walk. It burns almost as many calories and no knee pain.

I like my Apple Watch, it tracks the steps, miles. I never liked running, but I make sure to walk fast for at least 30 minutes a day. This can be substituted or added right now with scrubbing out the greenhouse, which is real work, and we also go swimming. (Sorry, I have to remove the watch for that.) I got us tags, 25 bucks lets us swim all Summer long in our town pool. It is really great!!

Bought Blc.Ruth Gee 'Carmela Orchids' AM/AOS and HCC/AOS, Blc. Copper Queen and Den. Spectabile from Tropical Plants and More, no one other than drdawg himself. Talk about customer service, Ken's got it in spades. The purchase was made through paypal. Somehow they got the street addres of our shop (where it was supposed to go) but the city and zip code where we live. We have a business and personal account. Now the Copper Queen was in bud. Post Office sent it back to Ken. This is Mississippi to California and back. He opened the package, got them healthy again and ready to ship. I asked him to send them UPS this time. We have a business account so I thought it would be easier. HA! They screwed up the info thay gave me and picked them up a day late. They arrived today at the shop. These plants look like Ken just walked them over from down the street and handed them to me. The two Copper Queen buds are now blooms. Can't thank you enough, Ken for your kindness and patience. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.
