I picked this up today at Lowes on their markdown table for 5.00.

I was doing some research and came upon this. What a great idea for a hanging basket. The buds are so small but it really emits a lot of fragrance.

If it is in a hanging basket, you will have to take care overwintering it.

You could sink the basket into the ground or put it near a building and cover the entire plant in leaves. Protection will help it survive and bloom again next year.

I love Lowe's sale shelves, but never found roses on them!

I was only thinking of keeping it in a basket for a one summer. Then this fall plant it in a large pot.

I have a large deck that is two stories above ground. I was keeping the roses in big pots and push them close to the sunroom and I pile leaves on top then I surround it with styrofoam.

I just find if I give the roses a year or two protected growing in pots I have a better chance of the roses surviving.

This is a bad pic of the area where I have been storing the roses. This was taken before the rehab. I should take new pics of the area. Any how it is the left side in the corner. It protects everything in that corner.

Cinta ... forgive me, I just can't help myself ... you are growing roots ... Hilarious!
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
