I live in Wisconsin, got this tree last summer, was doing very good at the start of spring, but it has suddenly turned brown, and we irrigate the lawn every day, what can I do to keep it living?
Do you water just the tree? Irrigating the lawn isn't going to be enough water for deeper tree roots. You need to let the hose run on the tree roots for a good 10 minutes or so.
Another good way to water small individual trees or newly planted shrubs is with a 5 gallon bucket with a small hole near the bottom. The water seeps out slowly enough so that it has a chance to soak in. Or if it's larger, you can get one of those soaker rings (that's just a short section of soaker hose formed into a circle).
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
