Maybe having a bunch of leaves down is helping somewhat with the internet connection, who knows?

These canna that I saved from last year are going crazy right now. Smiling

I ended up with some interesting volunteer mums this year.
Thumb of 2011-10-14/chelle/fc7619

Spoon-tipped? Never had anything like 'em before. I like them!

Is that a volunteer, Tee? It's beautiful. Thumbs up

This one is from a cutting that I stuck in the ground last fall. The parent plant didn't come back but the cuttings did. Blinking

Thumb of 2011-10-14/chelle/89bc98

This is another cutting that rooted last fall and came back this year. I'm supposing that it's a parent to my yellow spoon -tipped volunteer. (A parent to the orange one too, I'd bet.)

Anyone who likes to attract Hummers and Butterflies to their garden (who doesn't, I should say!),
can help keep them alive with the information in this thread and the cautionary video.
The thread "The praying mantis was my friend" in Gardening for Butterflies, Birds and Bees forum
Perhaps this accounts for times when we see fewer of them.
