Gosh oh gee...the little devil on my left shoulder is telling me to type:
"Close, but no cigar!" Whistling *Blush*

But the little angel on my right shoulder insists I should be more serious and say that I agree I agree it looks like a type of Plantain/Plantago.

It does look like plantago, but I've never heard of a leaf as big as a hand before. Plantago rugelii and P. major are the common ones, and they top out at half that size (and are usually smaller).

Base on wikipedia the leaves of Plantago major can be bigger. Maybe because of good condition and fertil soil Smiling

"Each leaf is oval-shaped, 5–20 cm long and 4–9 cm broad, rarely up to 30 cm long and 17 cm broad".

Those leaf measurements include the leaf stem, but that is still a lot larger than I would ever have expected. So, perhaps....

As Feng suggested, the size of the plant depends on soil conditions. Here I have found them flowering with leaves not much longer than an inch to over six inches.
