All these beautiful pictures of UF's, are making me want to start adding them to the garden. Fred, and Steve, Just awe inspiring UF seedlings, you, and many more here, are very talented hybridizers. This is my favorite thread, shows me whats possible with an artists imagination, and some sweat. I can't wait to see whats still to come.

Some of the seedlings blooming..
This Telltale Heart seedling has 17 blooms open today.
I counted buds on some of the scapes and a low of 36 buds to a high of 52 on the scapes.

Violet Cockatoo x Seedling has 15 blooms today and bud count of 30 -35 per scape.

I think this needs to be an introduction. I need to get it out of a crowded seedling bed
I need to re-measure it tomorrow for stats of height and bloom size but it is has 5-6 branches and 28 buds per scape. It gets creative with the sepals,

Quick question for the experts, how would one ship pollen if I was to trade pollen with another member? Do you remove the pollen from the anthers or ship it all together and would 3 days in the mail be too long for the pollen to still be viable? Thanks in advance and I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks Becky.
Daniel,
Take your fresh pollen and just remove the anther stems leaving only the part with pollen. Put it in a matchbox. The small ones that can be bought in an 8 pack for a buck. Ship it the same day to make sure it arrives in 3 days. The one receiving it can either use it right away or put it in the freezer. The pollen will keep for a few years frozen.
Someone may have a better suggestion but from what I have learned hybridizing, I think you will have as good of pollen as your daylily produced. All pollen is not equal.

Looks like you may have some teeth a little later Ken.
Great bud counts and blooms Terry.

Terry is correct about shipping pollen, it will last for a long time. Also correct about all pollen not being equal.
I have used THE ONE RING a lot this year, the pollen always looks great, but on some of the blooms the pollen will not fluff up it remains grannie and cannot go down the pistil. In my experience I also think pollen on treated plants are a lot harder to use than non treated plants, maybe Steve or Terry could confirm they have the same problem.

Thank you both so much, is the match box so it can breath? Would something that is air tight cause rot before it reaches it's destination? Thanks again.

Match boxes are made to keep matches dry so they work very well to dry the pollen and keep it dry.
Hybridizers who exchange pollen have told me they successfully use 3-4 day old pollen stored this way.
