Orchids don't mind having some of their roots above the medium, as you can see. If it were my plant, I'd be inclined to leave it in that pot as a base, and set up a piece of cork or a short branch of some kind for those aerial roots to attach to.

But I'm not that familiar with Coelogynes so hopefully someone else will advise you on this.

Looks to me as if it's going to just keep on "walking" the way it's going, too. New pseudobulbs will form in line with the ones you already have. So plan on something quite long for it to grow in. Or on. A rough plank might be very nice looking. Or something like this:

It's a slightly rolled up piece of cork bark. You might be able to find cork at a nursery, or pet supply store. People who keep things like lizards use it.

This basket measured 16" x 16". Smiling It is Coel. Burfordiense, which most pandurata turn out to be. The year after I split it into 5 large plants.....

Just an update on 'Ching Hua'.
I've been noticing the gradual change in color since first blooming.

This was July 11

And this is today

The fragrance however has remained pretty much the same. Maybe a little bit spicier than sweet.

Both are lovely, Tara.

Someone must have turned the sun up to extra crispy. It is really hot out there.

Boy is it ever. I stayed under my trees, taking some cuttings from my "Mother" Fiddle Leaf Ficus and then potting them up in gallon pots. I am soaking wet. There was not the slightest breeze. I had to come in for some AC and ice water. I feel better now. Time to water the plumeria......always something. Sighing!

I am so mad that I didn't have my sister grab me a Ching Hua when she saw them at her HomeDepot in Miami...I love those colors , Tara! She had sent a photo of 4 or 5 on the table and they were all different colors and now I know that they change as they mature.
Jim..I stayed inside most of the day...it's just oppressive out there today. I did put up my tarp, to give the chids on the bench a break from the afternoon monsoon...of course, there will be no monsoon today...and I did a quick spray with fertilizer before dashing back into the air conditioning! I did see a couple of new bloomers out there but will wait until tomorrow to take photos to give them a chance to fully open and possibly get mauled by the thrips!

Very pretty, Tara!

I am getting antsy being inside! It has been rainy since midday yesterday, temps are in the seventies! This is actually the first rained-out weekend in a couple of months.

Great show, Ted! The Gerberara is Snow Ballet though I don't know if it was hummers or ants but mama Gerberara had two seed pods. I removed them today.
