I added this to the calendar of events, but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it! http://garden.org/apps/events/...

They haven't put all the info up yet, but you can check out some preliminary info here: http://flawildflowers.org/even...

I've never been to Silver Springs so I'm really excited. Mom and I are going up a couple of days early to enjoy the area. I'll take lots of photos to share!

I'm happy to! Tourism is a big part of Florida's economy, you know! Whistling The Florida Wildflower Foundation does a lot of good here. I have the specialty license tag with the state wildflower, Coreopsis, on it. The extra money supports the FWF. It was the FWF that sponsored the first trip Mom and I took to Orlando Wetlands Park. They've planted lots of wildflowers there, and they've started a wildflower garden at Silver Springs. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place the Friday evening of the symposium. FYI, the location of the symposium changes each year. Last year, it was at Leu Gardens, for example. So if you can't attend this year, pay attention in future years for where it will be held. And if you've never visited Silver Springs (like me, a NATIVE Floridian!), this seems like a pretty good reason to go!

Our Native Plant Society which I am a member of, will be having their symposium in October.
I will probably not attend although i would like to.
I will be leading two native plant sales back to back in October, and i will probably be exhausted. Smiling Smiling
