Hello!

I used to have this little guy in indirect sunlight, but have since moved him to my western window sill when I noticed that he didn't seem too great. Now I'm wondering if he can even go back to normal. Thank you!

I'm not seeing what you are seeing. What has changed?

The little strands that come off of the succulent are dry and break off! They used to be green and stand out straight.

Maybe it's getting kind of fried in that western exposure -- it's definitely the hottest side of my house.

I think it may be a Stapeliad.

Stapeliad is the larger cousin of Huernia which it is but which one? Looks like maybe a 'Huernia schnideriana' if it blooms a starfish like flower 'red' about 1" across. Most are hard to ID.
Here's a picture of mine.

Awesome thank you!!! I actually have one of those also, but this does not look like it as much... it has more tendrils coming off of it and it is a darker green Sad It has not bloomed for me because it doesn't seem very happy haha

My Hoodias are much lighter in color and much more rolls of spines.

I agree with Daisy, I also think it is a Hoodia, I had been meaning to chime in, but have been distracted by work. My little Hoodia has it is tips go brown/white as the plant grows while new growth is green, so probably a sign of aging.
It is what it is!

I don't think it's a hoodia and time will tell when you get it's first bloom. 1000's of Huernias' and no way to tell them apart even with a bloom. Size, number of rolls of spines, color, etc. Hoodias are rare and more costly and is seldom sold in the stores. They are much larger growing except when small newly purchased. Look up Hoodia on the web to get an idea.
