Janet That is a beautiful pot. I had something similar last year but it got broken over the winter. Yours is so much nicer all that great personality my mass produced pot didn't have.
Here is a pic from last summer. Thumb of 2010-09-12/HollyAnnS/4251c0

Holly, I think you posted that picture on DG, and it inspired me to try making this one one for my friend's birthday! I'm so sorry yours got broken.....it couldn't be mended? The blue glaze I used on mine is a little darker. It's one of my favorites, but I sure wish I had a recipe for that bright blue glaze on yours!

Holly what a shame it broke, it is lovely. I agree with Janet, the glaze color is beautiful. Did it break from the freezing and thawing during winter?

Hurray! We can't wait to see it Janet. It will help us understand the process of how to buy good pots and how to care for them. It was always a mystery to me until I met you.

Yes, Janet I did post it last year. I love yours what a great job you have done with it. Just from the ceramic work and little bit of pottery work I have done I have an idea of how difficult a group of pots would be do make.

I picked up a couple of big blue strawberry pots while I was on vacation. They are those heavy clay pots. I'll try to get a pic of them tomorrow. Not entirely sure what I am going to put into them but I am hoping to do some succlents

No it was knocked off the shelf while in storage. Actually forgot that it was broken, I searched all over for it this spring and then when I couldn't find it I remembered cleaning it up after it was broken. Sad

Strawberry pots are GREAT for succulents---and I have used the top of one of mine as a birdbath base, and the top of the other as a stand for my mosaic ball.

I agree with you there Janet. I tried strawberries once. They grew nicely, but take up a lot of real estate for very few berries.

Around here the slugs get to each berry just as I have the thought that it will be ripe enough to pick tomorrow.....they seem to have ESP. Thank goodness the farm store down the road has them from May until October---my DH goes through a flat a week. My little strawberry pot would be hard-pressed to keep up with him!

I've never planted Strawberries in my strawberry jars. Hilarious! Hilarious!

I tried it once and after that found much better things to plant in them.
Here is a newly planted strawberry pot done July 12th. I'll have to take another picture this week so you can see how it is doing.

Wow, Linda I just noticed your are in zone 6b. Do you get much snow? Are you in the mountains or hills?
All the hardy semps and sedum should do well for you, even in your strawberry pot. What sedum and semps do you have?

I have now removed the ugly paper/glue from it's side. Hadn't noticed it until looking at the photo. Rolling on the floor laughing
