Very pretty, John. Amazing that it bloomed so quickly.

Aphids...ugh! I had tried to control them by spraying with soap/alcohol/water, then tried 3-in-1 systemic. But when I noticed tiny spiders that create webs (not spider mites) I stopped using the aforementioned and let the predators take care of them. Praying mantis and ladybugs also eat them. Once in a while when I see an infestation of a colony of aphids on a tree I just rub them off with my fingers.

I ran out of lathe wood before I was done.......

That's going to be a very nice lathe bench, John.

drdawg... I'm finishing up #2 right now. This one will have two tiers and helps
to use some of the three foot leftovers from the first bench. Now, all I have to
do is move it out to the back yard...... (oh my aching back.......

Let's not talk about backs, John. You would not want to compare, believe me.

Love the look of the bench on the Right, John. The two levels and w the lathing change of direction is a nice feature. The light shining through onto the gravel and shadows makes for a wonderful photo, not to say view from sitting there looking at them.
