My favorite color thread!!!! I will add some later, got to get outside before the next rain comes.

Hello, database everyone! Rolling my eyes. You can upload them directly from your posts here too, no need to go to the database page. Click image to enlarge, click the [Propose image for the plant database] at the bottom of the image and type in (or copy paste from your post) the cultivar name, and off you go! The new 2011 ones will still need to be added though.

Casting the Runes - I have loved it for a long time. The only reason I don't have it now, after my huge cutback, is that I kept two seedlings out if it.

Juli,

What are the seedlings like? Do you have pictures? I have a few seedlings from it that should bloom for the first time next summer. I really like CASTING THE RUNES--quite different from anything else I have. That's something that Curt is very good at--different. As well as generally excellent plants!

The "Five Favorite Reds" and "Five Favorite Yellows" threads have been so much fun that I thought I would bump up another oldie.

It was really interesting to scroll through the posts on this old thread. Some of the orange ones listed are still around, and a lot I'd never heard of. Some don't seem orange to me (more like gold, peach, or coral), but like all colors, I guess orange is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't have as many oranges as some other colors but I do have a few favorites.
Orange Velvet (an oldie but goodie--this is a light orange like orange sherbet):
Thumb of 2023-11-12/DeweyRooter/4cc7a7

Lady Lucille by Blooms of Bressingham:
Thumb of 2023-11-12/DeweyRooter/ef06f1
This one I suspect would increase faster and bloom more up north, but I love the color so much.

Whatchamacallit:
Thumb of 2023-11-12/DeweyRooter/88442f
Super bloomer--all around great garden plant

Cosmic Fireball:

This is a new plant, but when it blooms, it screams, "Look at me!"

I have a few more oranges that may make the cut next year (Early Fragrance, Malibu Sunset). I haven't had them long enough yet.
