Thanks Jill. Yes I would prefer the Sweet Pink tulip mix.
I have penciled in a trip to Frederick Saturday the 16th. Thing is, my 94-year-old MIL is on tenterhooks, and DH may need the car. I'll know more next week.

I'll check for a start time... not sure if it's 8 or 9... I likely won't make it until 10. everybody knows how to get between dutch plant farm and chef lin, I think, so is that a good lunch option?

Lisa, what quantity of sweet pink mix do you want? Options are box of 50, box of 100, box of 500 (box of 100 is only 50 cents less than 2 boxes of 50, box of 500 saves something like 22%

Thanks for the MIL wishes. Hmm, at the thought of planting 500 bulbs, I'm smacking my forehead. We're leaving the country a few days after the swap and will be away till mid-October. Will have to put my auger in high gear. Will let you know ##s tomorrow.

just store the bulbs in the basement or somewhere cool and plant when you return... you can plant bulbs any time the ground isn't frozen (and some people have mad skills even then), and there's usually enough cooling hours for blooms if you plant by early Feb.

wow, Lisa! that's going to be a heck of a spring show. Now you need some "little bulbs" to put in as you're planting the tulips (dig once, plant twice), and you'll reach "kilobulb planter status" this year!

OK, getting spreadsheet underway...

To be sure of getting what we want, we need to place our order by THIS FRIDAY, July 15.

I'll edit the list at the top to put items in bold that we're ordering for certain (because folks are willing to take remaining bulbs if needed)

Please think about whether you want Muscari, Ipheon, or other "little bulbs" like crocuses. We have some interest in Muscari Dark Eyes, M. latifolium, M. paradoxum, and M. 'Peppermint' -- but with 100 left in each box, those are not yet on my "Yes, order these" list.

I'll take 50 of any kind of crocus... I especially like 'Tricolor', which blooms a little later than 'Ruby Giant'

@Chantell and Lisa... Chantell, you wanted some pink/white/purple romantic mix tulips... Do you want a box of 50 for $17.50 or do you want to see if Lisa will slide you 25 or 50 of her pink/white "sweet pink mix" tulips (50 for $13.50)?

Anybody who ordered whole boxes, I'll assume that you could cooperatively spare a handful for somebody wanting to try a clump.

On "little bulbs" like Muscari, Iris retic., Crocus, etc... if we can pre-sell even half the box (usually of 150), I'll order it on Friday. By swap day, it usually turns out that we could sell off twice as many as are left over. That's less true of the larger bulbs, so I'll want to see 50 of 75 sold with the tulip and daffodil boxes. Thanks!

Hilarious! trust me I try!
I hope you all have a great time at the swap, afterwords if anyone wants to trade a few bulbs for plants via the mail feel free to treemail me. I'll have fruiting shrubs and trees along with abelia, mints, and other things I can share.

Chantell, I htink it's just a question of which you prefer... I don't think it will make a lot of difference to Lisa if she plants 450 or 500 tulips.
