A glancing blow here earlier in the afternoon yesterday was nice. Had a few of those lately, enough to keep stuff from wilting.

Who's still takin' an unrelieved bakin'?

Last good rain was a week and a half ago....3 inches in an overnight storm. We actually had mud puddles the next morning!! But its hot and my plants are drooping.....spent yesterday dragging my water sprinkler over the back yard. Tomorrow, the front. No rain in the immediate forecast and blazing hot temps. The heat is starting to get to me....makes me tired.

We are also in 8b (south central Georgia) and the rain is also going around us! I log daily rainfall with the CoCoRaHS and we've gotten very little rain in the last month too. The ginger, turmeric. and okra are happy though!

The elephant ears in my last pic are dormant or dead. I can't run enough water from the hose to keep everything going, bananas are all yellow... Caladiums have shrunk to being barely there.

I'm not sure how many inches down and not even a misting in Oct. It's normally our dry month but still! That's aggravating when it rains all around you but not ON you. Angry

It hasn't Larry. The last time I've seen this dirt road wet was the end of Sept. It still didn't reach our house.

This salvia shouldn't need watering....

same salvia without water....

I may end up losing established drought tolerant plants before this drought breaks.
Wish I'd taken pics of the poor trees....

Ooh, so sorry to see and hear that. Group hug I hope that rain comes your way soon. We're not quite as dry, although it hasn't rained here since hurricane Matthew. Here it's feast or famine. I don't recall it ever being so dry for so long.

I've given up watering about everything but some Coleus, Zinnias & blue curls that are still blooming. They're so full of bees & butterflies constantly, IDK where those critters would go since they seem to dependent on the few blooming plants in my yard.

I'm also keeping small dishes of water in various spots around the yard. Usually anoles run away from any movement but some are running right out close to me when I'm watering & desperately drinking while looking at me the way they do...

Before it got so desperately dry, I'd see little finches or wrens playing/bathing in the hose when I left it spritzing in the air for a few mins in a spot and went inside to get a sip of water, but I haven't seen them around at all in about a month. A couple squirrels have gotten used to me rinsing/filling the water dishes & now don't run away, they just watch, eagerly.
