Please help ID the epiphyte in the pic... I have placed the plant in crushed coconut husk with same setup as in case of orichids.

This is a bromeliad - more specifically, it is a Guzmania and most likely a hybrid. Not sure of the specific hybrid variety.

I agree, it's a Guzmania and it sure reminds me of this one I grew seven or eight years ago:
